Casio today used the Energy Station as the venue to launch its new Red Bull Racing Edifice watch range.
At a packed press conference (could have been the rain, could have been the free watch, could have been media interest who knows…) David Coulthard and fellow UK television presenter Eddie Jordan introduced the new range to around 200 media and journalists.
As well as DC and EJ, Mark Webber and Christian Horner were at the conference and presented with watches by Hidekazu Tanaka and Harald Schroeder of Casio.
And when one journalist asked the team principal if he could reveal which of his two drivers, Mark or Sebastian was the first to receive the new watch, Horner smiled and said: “Both drivers received the watches at the same time and we have plenty of spare, so there will be no difficulties on the watch front this weekend at the German Grand Prix…”
The new range? The EFE-504RBSP, EF–550RBSP and EFA-131RBSP to be precise. And all three feature needle and disc indicator stopwatch timing, have a panel made from the same carbon used on the RB6 and are engraved with the phrase ‘Casio is a Team Partner of Red Bull Racing’.
