There was the mother of all pitstops in front of the Mother of Parliaments this morning as Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber raced a couple of unexpected laps around Central London.

It was a case of guerilla F1 as Webber swept around Parliament Square in London in the early hours of this morning.

In front of Big Ben, a complete Red Bull Racing pit crew carried out five pitstops on Mark's Running Showcar.

Webber said : “Obviously, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity – it’s not every day you get to see the sights of London from an F1 car. This year has once again thrown up some interesting rule changes so any practice the team can get is going to make a difference, no matter where it is.”

The whole thing stopped traffic and pedestrians – you can see pictures in the gallery.

And here's the first video...
