Tonight's the night!

Since it first opened its doors in 1929, the Commodore Ballroom was designed for dancing. Its original floor was supported by tyres and horsehair, giving it the all important 'bounce' for the de riguer ballroom dancing of the time. When it was given a new dancefloor years later, careful attention was given to recreating the bounce that was one of its original features. Below street level you'll find the Commodore Lanes, a vintage bowling alley and poolroom.

Almost one hundred years later, the art deco venue is still an important location for music lovers from Vancouver and beyond. It's welcomed a plethora of big acts including Sammy Davis Jr, James Brown, U2, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Moby, Weezer, Oasis, The Police, Pearl Jam, KISS, Tina Turner, The Beastie Boys, Nirvana, Kid Rock, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Franz Ferdinand - and tonight it will be the place where the Red Bull Thre3style Champion 2011 is crowned.

It will be a tense night as the four winners of this week's final heats face the final obstacle between them and international glory. Taking home the Thre3style crown will be an accolade not just for them, but also their home country.

After DJ Nedu Lopes, hometown hero DJ Hedspin, DJ Bazooka, DJ Supa and the mystery wild card contender have crossed the finish line, they'll hand over party proceedings to Z-Trip, DJ Nu-Mark and the appropriately named Vinyl Ritchie.
