Championship leader Sebastian Vettel will line up in pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix but, in his latest blog ahead of the race, the German's thoughts turn to Sergio Perez after the driver's crash.

Hi,

I think the most important thing today wasn't the fact that we got the pole position, but that Sergio [Perez, Sauber] is fine after his crash during qualifying. We're all relieved and happy that Sergio is alright. We of course wish him all the best and hope to see him back in the pit as soon as possible.

The qualifyng itself was luckily a bit more pleasant for us. Being able to start from pole position is always great, but doing it in Monaco is even more special. I'm really satisfied with today's result and happy that we're having a really good feeling for this track. I still think that we shouldn't underestimate anyone, since we're all very close together and the other teams had a good day as well.

I guess one of the most important things for tomorrow is to keep our cool and stay focused during the whole race. After all, it will be quite long and, as we saw today, you must be concentrated at all times. Today's crashes won't change anything about our strategy, but we will keep them in mind and hopefully we won't see anyone crash again this year.

Sebastian
