So far in NASCAR 2011, Red Bull Racing driver Kasey Kahne has a top 10 finish and a Daytona 500 wall prang to his name. The Red Bulletin asked Kasey some tasty little questions…
Do past crashes prey on your mind when racing?
I don’t think about them. Poles and wins help build your confidence.
What about when you witness a crash?
My first thought is that I don’t want to get hit.
How do you stay fit?
A lot of cardio. I work out more in the off-season, and focus on the racing as the year goes on.
Is it true NASCAR vehicles can’t be changed much?
I know the feeling I need at each track, and the crew make little changes to ensure that happens.
How do you cope with searing race-day heat?
Food and water help the situation. You have to be mentally ready for it too.
