15,000 screaming fans witnessed what was undoubtedly the best FMX competition in Australia last year, and Red Bull XRAY is on its way back, bigger and better for 2010.

Steering the ship as always will be hero Robbie Maddison, fresh from a silver medal at X Games 16, and a win at the Madrid round of Red Bull X Fighters.

Much like last year, the event will be split over two days with qualifying and seeding runs taking place on the Saturday, with the finals coming down to the wire on the Sunday. The competition side of things will be split into three categories with FMX, Speed and Style and Best Whip, all giving the fans something special.

FMX: Will see eight of the best riders from Australia and around the world go through a series of eliminators and finals till eventually we’re left with only two who will have the best of three timed runs to prove their worth on the demanding course. SPEED AND STYLE: Puts eights of the Nations top racers against eight of the world’s top FMX riders in a battle between outright speed and gnarly tricks. Each rider will circulate the track twice, going head to head. The catch is, every trick they throw equates to points deducted from their overall time. The winner is the person with lowest overall score. So, it becomes a mind game, race the course as fast as you possibly can and go for little tricks or, throw down the gnarliest tricks you can to drop your time that way. Last year, it was a nail biter. BEST WHIP: Simple, yet extremely effective. The riders all hit the massive 120-foot tabletop jump in front of the judges tower and throw the bike as far sideways and upside down as possible. It’s something that has to be seen, to be believed.

If heaven was a moto track, Razorback ridge is what it would be designed off.
