Brand new for 2021 is Braking Point, a story-led feature, that you’d think has been inspired by Netflix’s Drive To Survive. The story follows 19-year-old Aiden Jackson as he tries to forge a Formula One career. In the story wou come up against an ageing teammate Casper Akkerman whose career is on the wane, and there is a welcome return to villain of the story Devon Butler.
To further your career you have to complete certain tasks, starting with winning the Formula 2 Championship. Other tasks include getting your car from P19 to P10 by the end of the race. And to make it seem even more realistic, each of the characters have their own Twitter account.

Last year saw the addition of Zandvoort and Hanoi to F1 2020 and soon Electronic Arts will be adding Imola, Portimão and Jeddah to the game. However, these won’t be available at launch but will be offered as free downloadable content later in the year. So, you’ll be able to race in Saudi Arabia before the stars of Formula One do.
If you fancy taking over from Max Verstappen and seeing if you can continue his path of success so far in 2021, well now you can with Real Season Start. It allows players to jump into the 23-race season at any point that’s already occurred with up-to-date standings. The Real Season Start is also updated with any calendar changes so allows players to recreate the season as close to real life as possible.

The popular career mode now has a two-player setting where you and a friend can enjoy the season via split-screen multiplayer (how retro). You can either be teammates where you’ll race to become the Constructors Champions or you can choose to be on different teams and compete for both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship. The players will work on R&D, meet the press and any of the other elements that a driver has to do. And you might start on separate teams, but with the contract system, you could end up racing together.
If you wanted to add a legendary Formula One driver to your roster in the My Team mode, now you can. For 2021, you can add Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, David Coulthard and Felipe Massa – that’s five world champions with 16 titles between them. However, the iconic drivers are only available on the Deluxe Edition of the game.
F1 2021 is available on Xbox, PlayStation and PC now.
