The British do party food like nobody else â whether thatâs a good or bad thing, weâll let you decide. Essentially what youâll need is a lot of beige food. If youâre at a house party in Britain, youâll almost be guaranteed to be served a buffet-style dinner consisting of plates full of pork pies, scotch eggs, cocktail sausages, and sausage rolls. In England we affectionately call it a âpicky teaâ.
If you want to try a British summer staple, fire up the barbeque and throw on some burgers and sausages â extra points if you have to do it under an umbrella because of the rain. If youâre really dedicated to the British experience then you could cook up a full Sunday roast, or even fish and chips (it has to be cod though).
For a typical British summer dessert, you can keep it simple with strawberries and cream or add crushed meringue and turn it into an Eton Mess if that tickles your fancy.
British food might have a polarising reputation, but the drinks on offer are a completely different affair. One of the most quintessentially British drinks, one could argue, would be a gin and tonic, served with ice and a slice, and thereâs also a great selection of British beers if youâre more that way inclined. But if youâre going to have a fully authentic British watch party, you have to make a cuppa (thatâs a cup of tea for those of you who arenât familiar with British slang). Now, the world is in constant debate over the correct way to make a cup of tea â but as long as you put a tea bag in some water with milk (and sugar if you like), youâre on the right lines no matter what order you do it in.
Another iconic British drink is squash (this also has various names depending on where in the Isles youâre based) â itâs simply concentrated fruit juice that you dilute with water, but itâs wonderfully refreshing and beautifully British.
If youâre looking to bring a bit more of a buzz to your watch party then of course we recommend another refreshing Red Bull mocktail to enjoy. One we think will go particularly well for the British Grand Prix is the Ginger Up. Youâll need 10ml of ginger syrup, juice of half a lime, ice, one can of Red Bull Energy Drink and lime wedges for garnish.
Now weâre not saying you need new clothes for every party you go to, but if youâre going to buy a new âfit then the British Grand Prix is a pretty good reason. And, what better excuse to get some official Oracle Red Bull Racing Teamwear so you can be part of your favourite team.
Or if you fancy getting your hands on something limited edition, Max has just released his limited edition Orange Lion Driver Cap, so youâd better move fast if you want to get your hands on it.
