Monza is in the Lombardia region of Italy, so if you’re expecting pizza and gelato on our menu, then you’re wrong. Well…we’ll never say no to pizza and gelato, but if you want something a little more region-specific then we’ve got you covered.
Monza has it’s own risotto dish named after the area; Risotto Alla Monzese, which is bound to be a hit. The main ingredient is Luganega, a traditional pork sausage made from pork, spices, red wine, and plenty of grana cheese.
The region also has a number of famous stews, cassouela and panmoijaa are two of them. Cassouela a traditional dish consisting of braised pork cutlets and cabbage in a hearty stew and panmoijaa is a tasty soup with bacon, in which onion, garlic and parsley are also used.
If you’re wanting something sweet to go with your main then we highly recommend giving a Torta Paesana Cake a go. Known as village cake, it’s one of the best-known cakes in the region. The cake is made from stale bread (it might sounds odd, but trust us), soaked in milk and flavoured with cocoa, pine nuts, and dried fruits and raisins.
Italy is famous for a huge range of both red and white wines, and if you want to spray the fizz, you can’t go wrong with some prosecco. There is even a cocktail called ‘Monza’, which is actually named after the circuit.
But if you’re wondering what we’ll be washing down our risotto with, then there’s only one answer – a refreshing Red Bull mocktail. There’s a huge selection to choose from (https://www.redbull.com/in-en/red-bull-mocktail-recipes), but for Monza we’re going for the Passion Sour.
To make the Pasion Sour, you’ll just need passion fruit syrup, a lime, ice, and one can of Red Bull Original.
It ain’t a party without music – now we know the music will be off whilst the racing is on, but for before and after, we’ve made the perfect Italian Grand Prix playlist. Check it out below:
And that’s everything, now go get all the ingredients and get ready to party!
