Meet the Team Behind Oracle Red Bull Racing

Now entering his third decade at the helm of Oracle Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner has overseen six Constructors’ Championships and eight Drivers’ Championships since taking charge in 2005. Under his leadership, the team has grown into one of Formula One’s most dominant forces. From securing our first victory in 2009 to orchestrating Max Verstappen’s historic title wins, Christian has been a driving force behind every success. His contributions to motorsport were recognized with a CBE in 2023.

Pierre Waché leads the technical team responsible for designing and developing our championship-winning cars. Since joining Red Bull Racing in 2013, he has played a crucial role in delivering high-performance machinery, including the dominant RB18 and RB19. As we approach the next major regulatory shift in 2026, Pierre will spearhead our efforts to remain at the cutting edge of F1 technology.

Affectionately known as GP, GianPiero Lambiase has been Max Verstappen’s Race Engineer since 2016, forming one of F1’s most effective partnerships. In 2022, he took on the additional role of Head of Race Engineering, and in 2024, he was appointed Head of Racing. This newly created position gives GP responsibility for all trackside activities while continuing his race-winning collaboration with Max.

A veteran of the sport, Paul Monaghan’s expertise in vehicle performance has been instrumental to our success since he joined Red Bull Racing in 2005. From optimizing race setups to ensuring maximum performance across a Grand Prix weekend, Paul’s technical leadership continues to be a cornerstone of our racing operations.

Having first worked at our Milton Keynes base in 2003, Ben Waterhouse returned to the team in 2017 and now leads the Performance Engineering group. His focus is on optimizing car performance across race weekends, driving in-season development, and exploring future innovation to keep Oracle Red Bull Racing at the forefront of F1.

A key figure in our strategy team, Stephen Knowles joined Red Bull Racing in 2021 after a decade at Mercedes. In 2024, he was promoted to Acting Head of Sporting, overseeing our team’s interaction with the FIA and ensuring compliance with the ever-evolving sporting regulations.

With a background in transmission design and engineering, Richard Wolverson has been an integral part of our team since 2008. As Head of Race Team Operations, he oversees all trackside activities, including pit stop execution, ensuring that our race team operates with seamless efficiency.
