Red Bull Showrun took place in downtown Budapest for the first time in history over the weekend, seeing a total of 40,000 motorsport fans attend the events which showcased two Formula One cars and featured a wide range of technical sports from MotoGP motorcycles, to the world's best drift cars. The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly the Team’s ambassadors David Coulthard and Patrick Friesacher driving at speed down Stefánia Street and doing donuts in front of the crowd, behind the wheels of the Oracle Red Bull Racing and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls RB7s.

To mark the occasion, Red Bull gave fans the chance to vote on Patrick’s helmet design, which was revealed at the Showrun. The choice was between artists Dániel Törőcsik and Mentha , who were both invited to the reveal to find out who had won and would feature on the helmet. More than 6,000 votes were cast and Mentha was the lucky winner. The design was inspired by graffiti culture, his personality, and Red Bull’s iconic colours and included Patrick’s requests: the words “Gratitude” and “Love”, along with his children’s names. The Team also brought the RB19 static Showcar, which was placed in iconic locations around Budapest.

The Showrun also saw Red Bull Driftbrothers, Mad Mike, Sam Sam, motorcycle stuntman Aras, and MotoGP racer turned showman Jonas Folger who brought the atmosphere to a fever pitch. They wowed the crowd with their roaring machines and breathtaking stunts. The joint performance by the drift racers went down as a huge success. Mad Mike gave a spectacular demonstration with the Driftbrothers and everyone watched on as the cars glided across Stefánia Street, right next to the iconic Puskas Arena, while Sam Sam also dazzled the audience. Aras and Folger, the two motorcyclists, brought the finale with a thrilling demonstration burning down the street; with such a range of technical sports on display, the two-wheelers could not be missed.

Former F1 driver and Red Bull ambassador David Coulthard said: “Red Bull Showrun is always a great opportunity to bring the atmosphere of F1 closer to the fans. It is not just a technical sport event, but a real festival atmosphere where we can show how unique this world is. The track in Budapest was amazing, the paddock was built in a beautiful location. It was always obvious how much the Hungarian audience loves F1, so we have had an amazing day, I really enjoyed it.”
Mad Mike, world famous drift champion said: "It was an amazing experience to drive around the city and entertain the audience with this car that has more than a thousand horsepower. It is incredible to see how much Hungarian people love this show, I will definitely be back to Budapest."
