It’s been a long time since we secured a front row lockout in qualifying. Mexico 2018 to be exact. When Max and Checo secured a one-two in qualifying there was plenty to smile about, the teamwork between the two drivers was crucial to securing this result.
In the final runs of Q3, Max headed out ahead of his teammate, with the intention of providing a tow. And the World Champion delivered a stunning lap that not only punched a hole in the air to help Checo in powering his way to the front row, it also propelled Max to his seventh pole position of the season. The tow gave Checo the chance put in the fastest middle sector which proved crucial. The Mexican crossed the line just 0.040s ahead of Charles Leclerc and claimed P2 on the grid.

With Max winning and Checo in P3, it finished off our most successful season ever. In total, the Bulls claimed 759 points in the Constructors’ Championship – 204 more points than Ferrari in second. The Bulls second best haul was in 2011 when the Team claimed 650 points. In that season, the Team collected 12 wins and a further 15 podiums in that year. 2022 has eclipsed that with 17 wins and 11 other podiums – that’s quite a collection!
